When to Use Validemail

Email validation is the process of checking that an email address can actually receive mail. It’s an essential step in maximizing the effectiveness of your email marketing campaigns. It decreases hard bounce rates, improves deliverability, protects your sender reputation score, and reduces spam complaints. It also saves money by preventing you from mailing to addresses that are unlikely to reach the inbox.

Performing mailbox validation via pinging the email server and analyzing its response code is much more accurate than a simple JavaScript pattern check. In addition to determining whether or not the mailbox exists, it can also verify that the mail server is able to accept incoming messages, determine the mailbox type (for example, catch-all, disposable, or abuse), and confirm whether the address is on a global suppression list.

When to Use Validemail

In addition to being a best practice, email validation is a necessity when working with data or creating new lists of email addresses. Whether you’re acquiring a new list, merging existing lists, or reactivating old contacts, email verification is crucial to avoid the cost and time-consuming consequences of using bad contact data.

Email validation can be performed individually on each entry, or a complete list can be uploaded and processed at once with most services. In the case of a bulk upload, the service may provide a report that shows which email addresses are valid and which ones are likely to result in a hard bounce or other error.
